Heli Meisterson, project director "Tallinn - European Capital of Culture 2011"

Heli Meisterson has been the responsible program director in the field of film, TV and media, performing arts, literature and socio-cultural themes, of the project “Tallinn – European Capital of Culture 2011” since autumn 2007. She was born in 1974 in Estonia and studied German language and literature in Tallinn and Vienna. From 2002 until 2007 she worked as a program consultant at the Goethe-Institute Tallinn, where she provided conceptual, organisational and advisory assistance to politico-cultural and interdisciplinary projects. As a freelancer, she translates and interprets in the following sectors: film, TV, theatre and print media. She also supported the German broadcasters ZDF and ARD, as well as the Estonian broadcaster ETV in editorial and organisational issues. Heli Meisterson has been invited to several international conferences, drama and film festivals, where she participated as speaker, discussion partner and jury member.
